Raspberry Pi Project: Jack the Ripper Bot

Do you still have a lot of DVD content that you would like to be able to archive in a cool, efficient, hands off way?

This project is technically objective.  It is up to the builder to ensure that the resulting bot is used to conduct legal archiving of content.

DVD content has been around for many, many years and many people have amassed many, many DVDs.  Even though disk changer carousels exist,  having a hundred plus DVDs ready to view on demand is practically impossible.  This is where archiving can solve the problem.

This project was published on the web site British Ideas by a user by the name Andy.

The project page has an associated video showing the bot in action:

It is a very cool project which covers a lot to learn which could be useful in future project you may create.  If you want to create your own "Jack the Ripper Bot", it may not be obvious how to navigate the instructions.  The links to the next pages are at the top of each page's title and the page colours may make it difficult to see the links as the text colour is very close to the background colour.  But be sure, the links are there.

To start working on this project, begin at the Jack the Ripper Bot Introduction page.
